Midwives are supported by the MUM / AMUM and have the opportunity to further develop as an autonomous practitioner, become involved with the aboriginal community and further develop community engagement skills. The Midwife accepts accountability for his or her own standards of midwifery care and for activities delegated to them and works alongside the AMIC Practitioner to support Aboriginal women in his/her care.
The Registered Midwife must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/ Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate OR registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. A demonstrated competence in the relevant area of midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, with at least 2 years of post- registration midwifery experience in all areas of midwifery care is essential.

This is a temporary part time vacancy up to 22 September 2023. Working 60.8 hours per fortnight over a 7 day roster and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
