Our Journey
An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse to join our team within Allambee Nursing Home on a Fulltime or Part time Ongoing basis.The roles are on a rotating roster, inclusive of weekdays & weekends, with some flexibility to increase your hours at times to assist in coverage of staff leave/holidays within the facility. We are the largest public health provider in Victoria and offer generalist and specialised aged care particularly to residents with complex care needs, those living with dementia and mental health illness. We currently operate four facilities with a new 150 bed facility in design phase.
We care for residents, many of whom are living with complex care needs that need your clinical expertise, compassion and support. We are committed to delivering innovative best practice care that challenges and engages our clinicians and have the support of Monash Health specialities and in reach services to achieve our best practice goals.
Allambee Nursing Home provides permanent and respite specialist aged mental health care. Our 35 private rooms have lovely garden views and are in a homelike setting. Independence is important to our residents, and we will do all we can to help maintain it. Being innovative and thinking outside the box is an important part of the role staff play at Allambee to give our care recipients a reason to wake each morning.
A Day in the Life
We work as a close-knit team with a strong focus on collaboration, providing support to the wider multi-disciplinary team ensuring a high standard of safety and engagement with our patients throughout their journey with us. We have a strong education focus and encourage staff to further develop their skills and provide a friendly and social working environment.
You will have access to resources to support you in this position, enabling you to advance your nursing and leadership skills whilst role modelling nursing excellence and delivering a high standard of patient centred care. Your attention to detail and passion for aged care nursing will see you excel in this position.
About You
You are a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse with exposure across mental health and/or aged health care. Having a compassionate disposition and passion to making a difference in the quality of your residents life, is simply just what you do. Alongside your caring and engaging manner, you have a positive work attitude and a strong people-person focus allowing you to engage with our residents and their families.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Availability to work on a rotating roster including AM, PM and Night Shift
- Patient-centred approach with excellent bedside manner
- Ability to undertake assessments
- Current APHRA registration
- Current Employee Working with Children’s’ Check, Police check and NDIS Worker Screening check
- Complete and current immunisation history including but not limited to COVID-19 and , influenza
