Our team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to excellence, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join us on a casual basis to support our endoscopy procedures.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
1.Patient Care: Provide safe, efficient, and comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and assist with patient positioning and comfort throughout the procedure.
2. Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by conducting pre-operative assessments, obtaining medical histories, and explaining the procedure and expected outcomes to patients and their families.
3.Intra-Procedure Support: Assist endoscopists during procedures by passing instruments and equipment, and providing support as needed. Monitor patient condition closely and respond to any changes or complications promptly.
4. Post-Procedure Care: Monitor patients post-procedure, assess their recovery status, and provide appropriate post-anesthesia care. Educate patients and their families about post-procedure care instructions and follow-up appointments.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including patient assessments, procedure documentation, and medication administration records. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, anesthesia providers, and support staff, to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.
7. Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) Training: Participate in training and certification programs to gain proficiency in CSSD procedures, including instrument decontamination, and equipment maintenance. Ensure compliance with sterilsation protocols and regulatory standards.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the APRHA
- Clinical nursing experience is desired, preferably in an endoscopy or procedural setting, however it is not essential. Training will be provided.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) desired. BLS and ACLS in service provided annually.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritise and respond to emergent situations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care. Proficiency in Chinese and Vietnamese languages is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Flexibility to work on a casual basis on weekdays. Monday - Friday.
