The role:
The Clinical Coach in the DCCM will:
Contributes to workplace activities and work collaboratively in assisting and supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in achieving the goals of the service by contributing to workplace activities beyond the immediate responsibility of delivering clinical care to clients. This will include the Clinical Coach Portfolio, with active involvement in clinical education; clinical leadership and management; safety and quality; and practice development.
Contributes to positive client outcomes by facilitating the competence and confidence of novice clinicians via Clinical Coaching.

About Royal Hobart Hospital
The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital in Tasmania and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine. The hospital provides all general and specialty medical and surgical services as well as paediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatry. It is also the state’s tertiary trauma centre.
The Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) provides a tertiary level service, providing care for over 1,400 patients annually. The DCCM provides complex and multidisciplinary care to a broad range of patients including cardiac and cardio-thoracic surgery; extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), neurosurgery, trauma, vascular surgery, burns, complex obstetrics and general medical and surgical. This means that you'll be working in a fast-paced and energetic environment with an abundance of opportunities to be involved in a variety of projects, clinical and research.
What more, the DCCM has also undergone redevelopment and expansion to provide an environment that will meet the growing need for critical care services in Tasmania. The new pod is due to open in coming months! Here, you will be encouraged to be your authentic self and to share your experiences with our emerging generation of registered and enrolled nurses.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time or part time, shift-worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary:
$96,558 - $102,908 pro rata per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and/or a Registered Midwife (for midwifery settings only)
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
A minimum of three years’ experience within the setting
Possess or working towards relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to clinical area
Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g. Australian College of Nursing, ACM, ACORN, ACCCN)
