About the Role

This is a 12 month contract (with a possibility for extension or permanent employment) working closely with the Quality, Risk and Compliance Manager and reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and undertaking care plan reviews to ensure Care Recipients clinical goals are being achieved and are up-to-date
  • Providing clinical education to Attendant Care Workers ensuring correct procedures are followed
  • Providing Clinical Oversight to Care1 Attendant Care Workers supporting Care Recipient programs, ensuring workers comply with best practice processes
  • Implementation of nursing strategies / improvements to Care1 policies and provide education as appropriate to company employees
  • Providing strategies in response to client adverse events such as falls, medication errors etc
  • Ensuring that delivery and implementation of care services is to an exceptional quality, standard and in-line with Care1 mission and values
  • Ensuring Care Recipient care meets accreditation standards, NDIS Practice Standards, ACIS 4.0 & ISO9001:2015 and work with internal departments as appropriate to achieve this
  • Ensuring that nursing services meet changing needs of Care Recipients through proper strategic planning
  • Complying, and ensuring the compliance of others, with the code of ethics and legal requirements of the nursing profession
  • Travel within regional NSW and interstate from time to time to meet with Care Recipients, support staff and attend case meetings with clinicians / external stakeholders  
  • Ability to prioritise care and to escalate where appropriate 
  • The ability to engage care participants, their loved ones and to provide meaningful and wholistic care 

There will also be some hands on work at various sites with our clients from time-to-time.

Essential skills / knowledge & experience:

  • Current NSW Nurses registration with AHPRA
  • Experience providing care to community-based care recipients or residential care
  • Thorough attention to detail with excellent written, oral & interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Minimum 5 years as a Registered Nurse within a similar setting
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and workloads
  • Ability to liaise and develop professional relationships with Care1 management, Care Recipients, Attendant Care Workers, office staff, doctors and allied health professionals
  • Maintain Care Recipient records (progress and case notes) and review them accordingly in line with Care1 and client organisation policy and procedure
  • Ability to self-manage workload and effective time management of self and others
  • Ensure familiarisation and compliance with all Care1 Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain a positive attitude and solution focused approach to all aspects of work
  • Covid 19 Vaccination Digital Certificate
  • Proof of Right to work in Australia 
  • Drivers License and reliable vehicle
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Police Check or NDISWC are essential with a preference for NDISWC
  • Working with Children Check
