Applications Close: 28 May 2024What you'll be doingThe Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of person centred; evidence-based nursing care that promotes positive health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Registered Nurse will work in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as families, groups and communities. The Registered Nurse will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia's Standards Practice. All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees.This is a temporary Part Time 24hpw maternity relief position until 29 June 2025 with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hoursAll NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.   • Demonstrated recent and extensive Palliative Care experience within a Palliative Care unit and/or community setting.
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised and with the autonomy permitted by the Registered Nurse scope of practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health CORE Values.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Palliative Care principles and a commitment to excellence and compassionate care of patients with life limiting illness.
  • Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Driver’s licence.
