The position is to be based at RNSH. Positions within RNSH Nutrition Services are appointed on the relevant grading, not to a specified clinical area. Clinical area allocation is based upon departmental need.What you'll be doingThe position is required to be part of the face to face 7-day Clinical Dietitian service inclusive of weekends and public holidays as rostered with working hours of 0830-1700. This position may also be required to work periods of time as Tuesday-Saturday to assist with additional support for the weekend roster.The weekday hours of work are 0800-1630 or 0830-1700, as well as participation in the 'late shift' roster with hours of 0830-1700 to support departmental technical staff. The Clinical Dietitian provides a high quality Nutrition and Dietetics service to allocated clinical areas. As a key member of the healthcare team, the Clinical Dietitian is an advocate for nutrition services. The Nutrition and Dietetics service provides a comprehensive range of nutrition services including inpatients, outpatients, ambulatory care and community consumers according to endorsed standards of practice, policy and procedure.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
