Permanent position in Corowa Court, Mornington
Do you have a flair for Aged Care? Looking for a sea change? If so, join our Residential Services team at our modern and beachside Corowa Court residential care home in Mornington. You’ll be part of a diverse, engaging and collaborative culture that is guided by our values of respect, responsibility, community and spirit.
With 120 beds, Corowa Court is led by Kirsteen MacKenzie who joined us towards the end of 2022 and comes from years of experience in managing residential care homes in the Penninsula like Calvary Rye Sands, Blue Cross Gardenia and Peninsula Health.
As an a passionate Registered Nurse, your ‘typical day’ will have you:
Providing excellent, person-centred resident care in relation to specialised nursing needs (i.e. management of diabetes, wounds, infections, pain and medications)
Maintaining documentation; completing resident assessments, incident investigation and related care documents in accordance with policies, procedures and to meet accreditation standards
Overseeing the administration of day to day tasks as relates to the provision of clinical care to achieve best resident outcomes
Applying sound decision making skills to make effective use of all resources
Undertaking clinical monitoring of residents and escalating changes as required
Providing employees with clear direction and guidance and actively promote positive working relationships
In this position you'll need:
A current AHPRA registration and Registered Nurse (Division 1) qualification
A collaborative approach to working with residents, staff, colleagues and other key stakeholders
An understanding of the aged care legislative framework and requirements, including safe medication administration
A high level of accountability for own work
The ability to show empathy and treat others with dignity and respect
