Kardinia Health is seeking to employ a Division One Nurse for a part- time position.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working with general practitioners and allied health professionals. Kardinia Health delivers a high standard of primary health care to the community and contributes to the training of the next generation of primary health care providers.
Kardinia Health embraces training opportunities for our nursing team, and regularly participates in PHN funded QI projects. We are currently one of 20 General Practice Clinics in Australia funded to run a womens pelvic pain clinic.
The successful candidate must be available for a minimum 24 hours/week. The shifts offered are for a full day, scheduled between 8am and 5pm. Saturday mornings 9am -1pm are shared on an equal rotation across the nursing team - about 1 in 5 Saturdays.
Working within their scope of practice, the Division One Nurse’s role is to work collaboratively with Kardinia Health’s multi-disciplinary health team to deliver care that meets patient’s needs.
The Division One Nurse responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking clinical nursing duties including triage, health assessments, wound management, immunisation and first aid
- Development of Chronic Disease Management Plans
- Delivering patient education
- Participation in case conferences
- Supervision of undergraduate health students
- Adherence to all organisational policies and procedures including infection control and OH&S standards
- Contribute to policy and procedure development
- To assist with practice accreditation
- Other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Division 1 Nursing qualifications with a minimum of 2 year experience in clinical nursing, post graduate year
- Experience working in a high functioning multidisciplinary team as well as ability to work as solo practitioner
- Current practising Certificate of Registration with the National Registration Board (Australia)
- Highly developed IT skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and conflict management skills
- Proven ability and commitment to patient service and continuous quality improvement
Desirable
- COVID-19 Infection control, nasopharyngeal swabbing, and vaccination
- Asthma management/education course completed and immunisation certificate completed and current including COVID-19
- Knowledge of MBS schedule in relation to chronic disease management
- Experience in clinical supervision of students
- Experience working in a private health care setting
- Experience in liaising and working with various health professionals, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Previous experience of 75+ annual health assessment
