About the Opportunity
Fairfield Hospital are recruiting a Registered Nurse to complement and enrich the current Paediatric Ambulatory Care Service team.
The Paediatric Ambulatory Care program runs paediatric outpatient services and assists parents and carers to provide care for their children in the comfort of their own home with the child’s doctor and a visiting community health nurse.
Paediatric Ambulatory Care works closely with local government and non-government agencies to provide care for children with acute and chronic medical conditions in community based settings such as schools and preschools.
What You'll be Doing
The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

Fairfield hospital is located in one of NSW’s largest LGA’s and is a hub of diverse cultures, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds. How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.

  • Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
