Overview
The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australia’s largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service.
Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.
Surgical Services
The Division of Surgical Services coordinates and manages support to the surgical departments and units of the WCH.
The Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the main referral centre for complex paediatric surgical conditions, for South Australia, the Northern Territory and some regional centres in Eastern Victoria and Eastern New South Wales and supports a clinical and basic science research and teaching program.
Paediatric Outpatients
Paediatric Outpatients is a Department within Surgical Services designed to provide a pleasant safe and welcoming environment for children and their families.
Paediatric Outpatients Department (POPD) is where babies, children and adolescents attend an appointment at the hospital for a variety of speciality clinics and services.

The Opportunity
Multiple exciting opportunities exist to join us as a Registered Nurse (RN1) within Paediatric Outpatients.
In this role, you will:
- Provide nursing services in primary health, secondary, tertiary or quaternary service settings.
- Work in collaboration with other health professionals and in partnership with women, children, youth and their families and other agencies to ensure optimum health outcomes.
- Actively participate in monitoring client care plans and participates in clinical review programmes/audits to ensure quality patient outcomes.

About You
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting.
