We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs. This role is on the Paediatric Unit at Box Hill Hospital. We are a 16 bed unit, and support children from neonates to those 18 years of age. We care for young people admitted with a wide variety of presentations, ranging from surgical (general surgery, ENT, plastics and orthopaedics) to medical, and including a speciality eating disorders unit.
About the role
We have opportunities for experienced, compassionate and respectful Registered Nurses on our paediatric unit at Box Hill Hospital. You will be part of our multi-disciplinary team who practice family-centred, holistic models of care, and strive to create an environment where families are encouraged to participate in patient care. You will join an innovative, collaborative and friendly team that supports its nurses with learning and teaching opportunities, including the Graduate Certificate of Nursing Practice- paediatrics.
We are proud of our fundraising efforts, one of which was the Colour Run Melbourne in 2019. About you
You are an experienced paediatric nurse with a kind, friendly and bubbly personality, and a desire to share your knowledge, while you continue to learn more. You enjoy a fast-paced environment where each day is different. You’re confident managing the unexpected, an excellent communicator, and a highly skilled clinician who can work autonomously yet simultaneously as part of a team.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current valid nursing registration with AHPRA
- Experience and/or a strong interest in paediatric nursing
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills
- A willingness to embrace Eastern Health values and contribute to a positive team culture
- Excellent patient assessment skills and attention to detail
- Strong commitment to high quality patient care and consumer engagement - a desire to continue improving our unit
- Strong time management and organisational skills
