About the role:
As a full-time Registered Nurse at the Chapman Surgical Centre, you will be integral to patient care, especially during the crucial pre-admission and post-operative phases. Your role will be supported by a nurturing environment, complete with a dedicated educator, two orientation days, and a Team Mentor to ensure a seamless integration into this critical position. This collaborative framework is key to enhancing patient outcomes and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct patient assessments and evaluations to ensure readiness for surgery.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care.
- Monitor patients' recovery immediately after surgery and manage any immediate post-operative needs. Discharge day patients home.
What we are looking for:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated experience within an acute care setting with at least 1 year experience within a surgical setting.
- Demonstrated elevated level of empathy and strong emotional intelligence.
- Exceptional communication skills (both verbally and written) with demonstrated experience professional communication with patients, their families and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work a range of 8-hour shifts Mon – Fri – No weekends, nights or public holidays.
