-VCID No. 892933This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.Position Profile: We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our team on Ward 3C - Short Stay Surgical located at Perth Children's Hospital.Paediatric experience is not essential with a supported transition to paediatric surgical nursing offered.Ward 3C is a diverse 60 bed surgical unit that comprises surgical admissions, same day surgery, Surgical Short Stay ward and the Pre and Post Anaesthesia Nursing Service (PPANS); with employees trained and rostered to work across each of these areas.Successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of competent, high quality nursing care to allocated patients and their families. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the assessment of patients and the development, implementation and evaluation of a plan of care and liaise with multidisciplinary team to resolve patient problems, evaluate care and develop discharge plans.
- Accept responsibility for the coordination of daily ward activities as appropriate.
- Monitor and negotiate own and others workload within the available resources on a shift by shift basis to support effective and efficient delivery of a high standard of nursing care.
- Act as a role model and undertake a teaching role in nursing practice for more junior staff.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary decision making and contributes to the achievement of Unit/Ward objectives.
