- Registered Nurse - Grade 2
- Permanent Part-time (0.8EFT) or Permanent Full Time (by negotiation)
- 6-month Transition to Specialty Practice Program (Cardiac, Emergency, Intensive Care, Neurology, Oncology and Renal)
- 12-month Transition to Specialty Practice Program (Perioperative)
This course is intended to provide an introduction for those wishing to pursue a career in one of the advertised clinical specialties.

About the role
You will have the opportunity to incorporate theoretical elements and gain practical experience in specialised settings. The program is designed with dedicated study days, learning packages/resources and clinical exposure and assessments.
During the course, you will be thoroughly supported by clinical experts within your nominated specialty and have access to friendly, knowledgeable and experienced clinical education staff from the Learning and Teaching Directorate.
The TSP program provides a clear career pathway for Registered Nurses seeking to work in a specialty environment whilst enhancing your critical thinking, theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and is a great stepping stone to Post Graduate studies.
There are various specialty streams available and Eastern Health is offering opportunities in the following areas for Semester 2, 2024:
- CARDIAC- Box Hill Hospital
- EMERGENCY (ED)- Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital & Angliss Hospital
- INTENSIVE CARE (ICU) - Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital & Angliss Hospital
- NEUROLOGY- Box Hill Hospital
- PERIOPERATIVE - Angliss Hospital or Eastern Blackburn Hospital (Please note: this is a 12 month program with a 6 month rotation to either Box Hill or Maroondah Periop)
- ONCOLOGY - Box Hill Hospital
- RENAL - Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah and Peter James Centre

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia AHPRA registration
- Recent acute clinical experience (greater than 1 year post registration experience preferably having undertaken a Graduate Program)
- Proactive, reflective, self-directed learner
- Well-developed communication skills
- Patient centred practice
- Team player
