Watsonia Central Medical Clinic is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Immuniser to join our team on a casual basis. Serving the Banyule and Nillumbik Council areas. Our aim is to increase access to COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations for vulnerable populations who cannot access vaccination through normal channels.
This position offers flexible hours, perfect for fitting around an existing job or family commitments, such as school drop-offs.
Hours: Flexible, approximately 4 - 8 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations
- Provide emergency responses appropriately when required.
- Educate patients on COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.
- Engage with community members to promote immunisation.
- Conduct home visits to administer vaccinations to those unable to leave their homes.
- Facilitate vaccinations at community centres, aged care facilities, retirement villages, and identified temporary accommodation facilities.
- Work with kindness and empathy, particularly when dealing with vulnerable cohorts.
- Utilize experience in mobile vaccination programs to deliver services effectively.
Qualifications:
- Nurse Immuniser accreditation from a Chief Health Officer recognised program of study.
- Registered in Division 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Sound knowledge of NH&MRC Immunisation guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in administering emergency responses appropriately.
- Experienced in mobile vaccination programs.
- Kind and empathetic, able to work effectively with vulnerable populations.
