Anaesthetics Provisional Fellow

Fixed Term - Full Time

(86 hrs per fortnight) from February 2025

Grampians Health is a significant trials site for the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network, with current involvement in TRIGs, ROCKET and LOLIPOP trials. Medical students from the University of Melbourne (Rural Clinical School) and Deakin Clinical School attend and undertake their anaesthetic training in the department. A long established culture of audit exists, with M&M meetings and Complex Case reviews held every second week.

Your Provisional Fellow year – why Ballarat?

• Join a team of 36 consultant anaesthetists, 10 anaesthetic registrars and 3 HMOs.
• The six main theatres and 2 Procedure Rooms undertake nearly 10,000 cases per year.
• The department supports an Obstetric Service of 1800 deliveries per annum, as well as a 2 room Cardiac Intervention Suite.

• Two specialist pain physicians lead our Acute Pain Service and conduct clinics for persistent patients, as well as perform interventional pain procedures.
• All surgery specialties are catered for with the exception of cardiac surgery and neurosurgery.

• Opportunities exist to gain further experience in paediatric, obstetric, thoracic and vascular anaesthesia prior to commencing specialist practice.

• Excellent opportunities to use your non-clinical time for research, teaching and other professional development activities.

You will be a registered medical practitioner (AHPRA) and be a registered ANZCA trainee and preferably have passed the final FANZCA examination
