About the Role:
Candidates are encouraged to apply for the position of Palliative Medicine Registrar at Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton. This is a newly accredited post in a fast growing regional Hospital with inpatient, Inreach, community consultancy roles.
The position is for an accredited Palliative Medicine Registrar (term 4 - Cancer Centre) who is a trainee of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine. The appointee will work in Mary Coram Unit and will be expected to progress towards obtaining Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine in a timely manner. The appointee will be part of the team providing consistent Specialist Palliative medical care. Specialist Palliative care beds are located in Mary Coram Unit (Rehab). GVH has onsite cancer centre- medical oncology. The trainee is expected to work closely with oncologists, visiting radiation oncologist, attend weekly Oncology Inter disciplinary meeting, review of inpatients, clinic patients, joint inpatient care for relevant patients. One of the oncologists- completed Diploma in Palliative Medicine (who will be a co-supervisor) for the trainee.

The successful candidate will have:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Medical Practitioner
- Registrar level of experience in medicine, oncology, general practice or related disciplines.
- Candidates undertaking Pain specialist training and/ or Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine will be preferred.
