MSAC Solutions is a service consultancy firm providing leading grocery retailers and food manufacturing companies around the world with product lifecycle management services from system implementation through to ongoing support.
Our Regulatory and Technical Service provides food safety and quality services relating to specifications, packaging and reporting.
Product specifications are a fundamental part of the quality due diligence and legal compliance, yet these are often inaccurate, incomplete, or simply missing. At MSAC Solutions, we work with manufacturers and retailers to ensure specifications are fully compliant, in a timely manner.
The role
- Reviewing product specifications across a range of product categories (e.g. food, health and beauty, liqour, etc.) using online Retail Management Tools. The aim is to ensure full completion of specifications, aligned with current legislation and our customers’ specific guidelines and requirement, all within allocated timeframes.
- Review packaging data and information to ensure compliance with the current legislation, APCO and our customers' specific guidelines and requirement. This might include the completion of PREP reports, review ARL's, recycled contents, claims and certifications, etc.
- To liaise and engage our clients' end user communities by providing online support and guidance via phone and email channels to ensure full and accurate completion of specifications and artworks.
- Regulatory and Technical advice and reviews: artwork, claims, country of origin, allergen management (PEAL), etc.
Key role responsibilities include:
- Review and assess specification information such as recipe, allergens, nutrition, etc. To identify missing data and/or where updated data is required.
- Review packaging attributes and data: composition, recyclability, recycled content, etc.
- Managing communication and engagement with suppliers/manufacturers.
- Ensuring all information reviewed meets compliance requirements.
- Working collaboratively and communicating regularly with the other Regulatory Affairs and Technical Services team members in relation to ongoing projects.
- Ensuring delivery of key tasks within the allocated timeframes.
- Undertaking regular project tracking/updating and reporting.
Required experience and skills
- Certificate IV or Diploma of Food Science and/or Technology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and/or Technology
- 1 to 2 years Food Technology and FMCG experience
- Retail NPD and or/ Private Label industry experience.
- Good understanding of food regulation and legislation.
- Understanding of food processing principles, QA, packaging, specifications.
- IT literate and highly proficient working with database applications.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving mindset.
- Outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to set priorities, plan and organise work to meet objectives.
- Self-motivated and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
