Situated in Council’s Building Services Department this is a specialist cladding role. Reporting to the Coordinator Pools & Community Safety and Senior Technical Advisor, you will:
- Carry out statutory and administrative functions under the Building Act specifically in relation to the resolution of cladding safety in building within Boroondara
- Carry out site inspections on buildings containing combustible cladding with a registered Building Inspector/Building Surveyor
- Assist in administering Building Notices and Orders under the Building Act
- Provide exceptional customer service in the provision of information and technical and regulatory advice to the community, and to all stakeholders
- Provide project management and administrative support for management of cladding related matters and general support across the department
About you
If the following describes you, you will be a great fit for the role:
- Completed or studying Building Surveying or a Building Industry related course and/or relevant experience
- A basic understanding of the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, National Construction Code, Australian Standards and the underlying principles of these statutes
- Demonstrated customer service skills with effective communication and ability to gain cooperation and assistance from staff, customers, professionals and tradespeople
- Highly developed skills in computer systems such as CRM, Objective, P&R, ECM, Eview, Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new systems
- Excellent time management skills, with an ability to exercise initiative and to solve problems
