Your new role 

To lead the Regulatory Services Operations team in the delivery of statutory and educational services, achieving compliance and excellent customer service and promoting good social behaviour in the community.

Working with the Regulatory Services Manager, the Regulatory Services Operations Coordinator is responsible for the leadership and management of a range of programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan, including:

• Animal Management by-law enforcement

• Public Places by-law enforcement

• Signs, Hoardings and Advertising bylaw enforcement

• Parking Regulation enforcement

• Regulatory Services Education Program support

• By-law Investigation, Legal Brief and Prosecution

• Liquor Application review and response

• Education and Policy initiatives

What you'll need to succeed 

Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, education, conservation, including other related fields and disciplines or minimum 5 years equivalent experience in a similar role.

• Extensive experience in a Regulatory Services position or similar.

• Proven experience of managing a team and providing effective leadership to create a positive working culture.

• Ability to interpret, adhere to, follow, and regulate relevant Northern Territory Government and Council legislation and policies.

• Experience in the operations of local governments and the functions of Regulatory Services is desirable.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide cross-section of people and manage business correspondence.

• Animal management experience is desirable, including animal welfare and community education approaches.

• Ability to develop procedures for the effective implementation of policy in a regulatory environment.
