Regulatory Services Operations Coordinator

Randstad Darwin is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operations

Coordinator to join a dynamic team within a local Government Department

Role: Level 7 Regulatory Services operations coordinator

Salary: $62.00 p/hour

Casual Contract with potential for permanent position

Full time hours Monday to Friday Darwin based role

Key Responsibilities : As a Regulatory operations coordinator your key duties will be

• Effectively manage the Regulatory Services Rangers and Pound Attendants by providing leadership and support to staff in an energetic, proactive and learning environment.
• Assist the Regulatory Services Manager to administer (Council) By-Laws, to achieve statutory compliance whilst promoting excellent customer service.
• When required, in consultation with the Regulatory Services Manager, liaise with other agencies and Community organisations promoting cooperation and relationship building, to assist with development and delivery of effective services in response to community issues.
• Support the development, implementation and promotion of Council’s Animal Management Strategy and policy framework.

The ideal candidate must possess:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, education, conservation, including other related fields or minimum 5 years equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Extensive experience in a Regulatory services position or similar.
• Proven experience in managing a team and providing effective leadership to create a positive working culture.
• Experience in the operations of Local Government and the functions of Regulatory Services is desirable

• Proven program and project management experience including budget management.
• Ability to interpret, adhere to and regulate relevant Northern Territory Government and local government legislation and policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide cross section of people and manage business correspondence.
• Proficiency in the use of office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
