Role Description:
Release Manager will oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of software releases across various platforms. This role ensures that all aspects of the release process are well-coordinated, ensuring smooth deployments with minimal disruption to services. The Release Manager will work closely with development, operations, and project management teams to manage and improve the release lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities:
- Led release activities across a large Agile program and is comfortable presenting to executives.
- Experience in coordinating Release Management activity across a portfolio or organisation.
- Ownership and drive continuous improvement of the release process.
- Communicate the scope and purpose releases, environment refreshes, release schedules, release status and escalation of issues and risks, while ensuring that the quality and integrity of releases are maintained.
- Plan and facilitate release activities across development and testing, ensuring quality and timely deployments across all environments.
- Maintain consistency of releases across sandbox environments, testing and external test environments.
- Define and manage technical change control processes for release readiness criteria and ensure all changes meet readiness criteria prior to deployment
- Build a pipeline of pending releases with the internal stakeholders
- Define and agree Release and deployment plans with the customers
- Working with account resources, primarily Project, Technical, Incident and Release Management to deliver client outcomes.
- Operating proactively and successfully within a multi-vendor environment.
- Delivering to the customer contract for Change and Release design and operation
- Ensuring Project Managers and subcontractors comply with the company and customer Process.
- Representing and implementing Release successfully for the customer’s environment.
Your Skills
- Extensive experience in or working with Change/Release/Incident Management/Project roles.
- Willing to work after hours as required for afterhours deployments.
- Release/Change reporting and compliance skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certificate, desirable.
- Ability to exercise strong governance of process in high-pressure situations.
- Experience in negotiating with key partners to achieve a win-win situation.
