The Role
Our Chelsea Heights site is located in Melbourne's south-east, manufacturing a range of more than 44 milk, milk-based beverages and cream products. The site currently produces around 100 million litres of product every year - processing, packing, and delivering 24 hours a day, six days a week.
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Reliability Team Leader to join the Maintenance Team. You will report to the Manager of Engineering and Reliability; coaching and developing the on-shift Fitters and Electricians to deliver reliability improvements to the manufacturing lines and processes to improve efficiency and performance with a strong emphasis on making safety and quality improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the site's asset care program. Lead and own asset maintenance plans, identification, and elimination of inherent reliability problems on key lines.
- Lead a safety-first culture within the Reliability Teams and across the site. Support and assist in the development of HACCP, Safety and Environmental plans.
- Support the trades team to resolve urgent equipment failures by troubleshooting & diagnosing highly complex equipment.
- Manage team members and ensure compliance with Bega's safety policies and site processes.
- Performance Management for continuous improvement of team members by fostering supportive & constructive team culture.
- Coaching and directing team through change and problem-solving; and engage towards a single vision.
About you
- Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) or Trade Certificate with leadership experience
- License: Working at heights, confined space and high risk work permit (>11m) (preferred)
- Solid understanding of processing in FMCG, Asset Care practices and Total Asset Management Tool
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for continuous improvement and strategic initiatives
- Strong communication skills to motivate and support team members for coaching and building relationship with stakeholders.
