Supplying the international market since 1933, our client is an Australian-owned agribusiness specialising in the supply of high-quality, responsibly raised beef products. With 3 strategically located processing facilities across Victoria and Tasmania, they continue to demonstrate their commitment to animal welfare and the support of local farmers.
Boasting a dynamic culture built on collaboration, support, and teamwork, they are now supplying 10 premium brands including grass-fed, barley-finished, and wagyu beef products. Located at their original processing plant in the Goulburn Valley region of Northern Victoria, a skilled Rendering Operator is required to join their well-established production team.
The Role
This role plays a crucial part in monitoring the performance of associated machinery within the plant. In addition to operating various computer-controlled equipment, this role will also be responsible for the basic maintenance of plant machinery if/when required.
With a strong focus on safety and quality, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Operation of equipment and control processes in the production of high quality/high value animal protein products.
- Monitoring gauges related to time, pressure, and temperatures.
- Monitoring product flow with respect to smooth and unrestricted movement of product through the entire system utilising SCADA – managing inputs and outputs.
- Ensuring all quality standards, work instructions, and safety requirements are met.
- Logging pertinent information into log sheets at appropriate intervals.
- Performing basic operator troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Computer-savvy and mechanically minded, the successful applicant will have previous experience in a similar production-based role. Working 50 hours per week – Monday to Friday – you will have the flexibility to adhere to operational pressures if required after hours.
To be considered for this role, it’s important you can address the following criteria:
- Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Collaborative work ethic whilst being able to work unsupervised.
- Forklift Licence.
- Open Driver’s Licence.
- Q Fever (or willingness to acquire).
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification.
- Relevant Boiler Operator ticket.
- Ability to work afternoon/weekend shifts.
- Sound welding capabilities.
