Position Overview:
The Renewables Engineer will be responsible for VRE resource assessments, concept layouts for wind, solar, and/or BESS, utilizing tools such as Windpro and PVsyst. Key responsibilities include managing wind data, completing resource assessments, and contributing to concept development.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging your technical expertise to contribute to the success of our initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about renewable energy and looking to make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical feasibility studies for renewable energy projects, evaluating site conditions and resource potential.
- Perform high-level resource assessments for new VRE prospect sites.
- Support VRE prospect assessments, risk reviews, and prioritisation.
- Create concept layouts for wind, solar, and BESS using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with project development teams to optimise the design and layout of renewable energy installations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform energy yield assessments using advanced modelling tools and simulations.
- Analyse and interpret data from renewable energy systems to identify opportunities for performance improvement and optimisation.
- Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, and other documentation.
- Evaluate grid connection options, considering economic feasibility and competition impact.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Proven knowledge and experience in renewable energy project development, engineering, or analysis in Australia. (Desired 4/5 + years experience)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in relevant software tools for energy modeling and analysis.
- Experience using Windpro and PVsyst systems.
- Demonstrated engineering experience in concept designs and high-level assessments for optimal solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to renewable energy projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information in a clear and compelling manner.
