Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a seasoned Senior / Lead Renewable Energy Engineer to join our Energy and Resources Team, to be based in Brisbane. This role will work with the broader enterprise to service clients and deliver projects in the power sector across the full project lifecycle. These projects are anticipated to have a particular focus on Renewable Energy and energy storage and contribute to the continued decarbonization of the power system.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for Renewable Energy projects.
• Undertaking concept design and preparing documentation for power generation and Renewable Energy projects.
• Leading and overseeing the work of project teams to achieve project milestones and objectives; includes allocating tasks, ensuring compliance, setting priorities, reprioritizing as required, and coordinating and supervising the daily activities of project teams.
• Contributing to the development of GHD’s knowledge and skills in power generation engineering including planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and demolition.
• Effectively communicating with stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Leveraging background/contacts to developing business and contributing to winning work.
• Development of tender responses to sell GHD’s services.

What you will bring to the team:

• Formal qualifications in mechanical engineering (BEng or equivalent acceptable to Engineers Australia).
• CPEng and RPEQ are desirable.
• 10+ Years’ experience in power generation projects.
• Experience in the design of renewables (e.g., solar, wind, PHES, BESS).
• Experience performing energy yield assessments for solar farms or wind farms(desirable), concept design, and feasibility studies for Renewable Energy projects.
• Experience with relevant software packages (e.g. HOMER, PVSyst, WindPRO, Thermoflow).
• Experience and a sound understanding of current power generation technologies, including methods of installation, operation, and configuration.
• Strong understanding of renewable project planning and development processes
