The role

The Repair Relationship Consultant will drive and improve the performance and capability requirements of the Home Building Partners, while supporting our Home Claims Teams.  This will be achieved through the application of strong technical and relationship skills to ensure that we develop market leading repair cost capabilities and successful achievement of the company’s corporate goals.
 

  • Accountability for our Home Building Partners to ensure that they are engaged, enabled and working by the Auto and General Company Values.
  • Manage a portfolio of external Building Partners to drive their performance in the key areas of cost, quality, customer service and timeliness. This position will play an integral role in the design and development of our Home Building model and assist with the definition of its strategic outcomes.
  • Implementation and ongoing control of Auto and Generals market leading quality assurance program, focused on the continual improvement of the performance and technical requirements of our Building Partners.
  • Implement practices to understand cost driven insights and to develop ways of working with our people and with the best application of all tools available, providing leading edge scoping and repair method and cost control.
  • Deliver technical training to both our Building Partners and Home Claims Teams to address scoping, pricing and process adherence gaps identified during Quality Reviews. Ongoing development of training materials in line with industry changes, legislation, policy and process.
  • Execute strategies which drive technical engagement with our customers, our people & our Building Partners during the assessing & repair cycle, and making a significant contribution to our Home product.
  • Business lead in Projects to ensure deployment of effective systems with the correct technical input.
  • Influence, inspire, collaborate and build strong relationships with your portfolio of Building Partners and internal/external stakeholders
  • Champion a culture of leadership excellence, technical expertise and professionalism.
  • Potential for the position to be based in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne for the best candidate
  • Work to identify gaps in coverage to better service our customers, and work closely with our Home Procurement Team for any changes to our Home Building Panel.
  • Conduct onsite assessments including large loss and high complexity claims.
  • This position will require the successful candidate to travel regularly, including interstate travel.
 

What experience you’ll bring

  • Substantial experience in and current knowledge of the building repair / construction industry including the relationship between the industry and the Insurance sector.
  • Technical construction knowledge essential.
  • Experience or knowledge in the role of Insurance Home Assessing or Loss Adjusting.
  • Knowledge of Home insurance building panel protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of QA framework and technical training in an insurance setting
  • Confident in the creation and then delivery of training materials, to assist with ongoing coaching
  • Strong understanding of Home Insurance policies claims and assessing repair methods & quoting software.
  • Excellent relationship building skills which engage stakeholders across the entire organization.
  • Analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a professional presentation to all aspects of the role.
  • Able to review reports and data/information to identify trends which will then form action plans, for the continual performance improvement of the Building Partners.
  • Ability to solve problems and work autonomously, negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with KPI’s/SLA’s and how they are used to improve performance.
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to travel
