We are looking for a results driven leader to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and all aspects of our busy Hazelmere Depot. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and assisting where required to ensure the efficient running of our transport, crane and hire divisions. This role is an on the ground role and the person will be accountable for the safety, efficiency, and overall performance of our Hazelmere operations, including the workshop function.
Supported by the teams on the ground, the core focus of the role is overseeing the daily workflow across the entire depot to ensure optimum levels of service delivery without compromising on safety or client satisfaction.
Your Skills and Attributes:
To be considered for this role, ideally you will possess the following qualifications and traits:
Proven Track Record: At least five years of demonstrated experience in operations management within the road transport industry.
Regulatory Expertise: Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, COR, and other relevant regulations to ensure compliance and safety. HSE qualifications would be highly regarded as would an understanding of the WA Main Roads Regulations for Heavy Vehicles.
Highly Organized: we are looking for a self-driven leader who is reliable, and exceptionally well-organized with the patience and mental ability to adapt and multitask to meet deadlines.
Mechanical Aptitude: ideally you will possess a solid understanding or ability to understand mechanics to aid with forward planning, workflow, prioritisation and meeting deadlines across the workshop and parts divisions.
Progressive Planner: to succeed you will need to be a team player who can project and plan within the different divisions of the depot. Your operational involvement will need to be broadly focussed.
Emotional Intelligence: have the ability to analyse information, separate facts and communicate a resolution to staff and/or clients.
Problem Solver: Show logical intelligence and foresight in resolving challenges and anticipate future issues before they arise.
Licenses and Skills: Hold a valid Driver's License and Forklift License with the ability to load and unload when required.
Tech Savvy: Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy and sound written and verbal communication skills.
Your Responsibilities:
In this role you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
Seamless Operations: Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations for each division of the depot, and assist in managing and overseeing the depot's daily activities efficiently and effectively.
Compliance and Safety: keep up to date on internal policies, standards, procedures, and champion them with your team.
Maintenance Coordination: Plan and coordinate servicing and maintenance activities across the hire, crane, and transport fleet.
Balanced Engagement: Liaise with operational staff in other depots, administration personnel, and stakeholders in a professional manner and assist in cultivating a positive team spirit.
Depot Presentation: Coordinate and lead the Hazelmere depot to maintain a high standard of safety, order, cleanliness, and overall appearance.
Exceed Customers Expectations: Exceed customer service expectations and aid in building new client relationships.
Analytical Thinking: Analyse data and information for accuracy, present challenges, and be confident in challenging decisions that impact the operations or operational outcome of the business.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of the depot’s operations.
People Management: Lead, develop and mentor existing employees, foster growth through training and succession planning.
Reporting: Prepare and communicate through internal weekly and monthly reporting systems.
