GRADUATE RESEARCH AGRONOMIST

We are inviting applicants with previous horticultural experience to join our research team in Kewdale, WA. The demand for our horticultural services continues to grow and you will play a key role in the expansion of this business.

About the Role:

The role will suit a positive, highly adaptable, and organised person with strong capabilities in prioritising work and meeting deadlines. Skills and experience seen as highly advantageous include:

  • A sound understanding of local weeds/diseases/insect pests.
  • Working safely and effectively with agricultural chemicals.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a small team of likeminded professionals.
  • Sound work ethic;
  • The ability to problem solve, interpret data and complete scientific reports.
  • High attention to detail and pride in your work.

Due to the nature of the role, overnight travel may required at peak times.

About You: The successful candidate will have:

  • 3 years’ experience conducting residue, efficacy and/or field trials in horticultural and/or broadacre crops
  • Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural/Horticultural Science (or similar).
  • A strong reputation in the industry and existing industry networks.
  • A genuine interest in agricultural chemistry, disease and or entomology.
  • Excellent people skills to interact with colleagues, growers and clients.
  • Willingness to support, train and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Curiosity and motivation.
  • A current manual driver's license.
