Who will you be working with?
Our Client is a growing scientific organisation who have created novel therapies with potential to change the lives of patients. As the Research Data Manager you will work alongside an Executive leader to create data management processes and systems that enable streamlined dissemination of information throughout the business.
Who is this Executive leader? They are an incredible scientist, inventor and someone who is fast-thinking, intelligent, down to earth and often short on time. As their right-hand person, you’ll be able to create a rhythm in your way of working that optimises time, creates ease of access to critical data and enhances the reporting capabilities of the organisation as a whole.
What are the benefits?
- Brand new, permanent position
- Competitive salary package + relocation support (if required)
- Flexible hours on offer – open to part-time or full-time work arrangements
- Be part of a team of scientific experts from around the world
If you love data, science and delivering for (and with) your team, this role will empower you to create solutions that will create an ease of working and accessing information. You’ll launch into the job with a couple of key projects driving better organisation of data whilst creating strong working relationships with the whole team – from Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering and beyond.
This is not a document control position – we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of research, science, and techniques for presenting data that are effective and efficient. One of the most desirable attributes is the inherent drive to provide the highest level of internal customer service through positive communication and influencing skills. You’ll be guiding others on how and what to do with their data, not scrutinising the data itself.
This role will be based on site in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane with flexible hours on offer.
Key tasks of this role include:
- Frequently work with the Executive leader to fulfill their data reporting requirements for Board reports, scientific presentations, research papers and investor reports.
- Lead data management projects – utilise Sharepoint, Google Docs or other systems as required.
- Engage all team members to support their data management needs.
- Support management of data sets related to Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Clinical Trials and more.
When we picture our ideal candidate, first and foremost we see someone who thrives on helping others. The Executive leader and the wider team are your customers, and they are very busy, brilliant and supportive people. You’ll have the ability to identify their capabilities and needs to help optimise their approaches to managing a range of complex data sets. For this position you will need a good understanding of scientific nomenclature, but you do not need to be THE scientific expert.
Other key requirements of this role include:
- A tertiary qualification in Science (open to all disciplines)
- Proven experience designing and implementing approaches/systems for data management
- Motivation to provide exceptional customer service
- Confidence communicating with people from all walks of life at all levels of a business
- The ability to envisage and build logical data management structures
- A proactive approach with active listening skills.
