How can you make a difference?  

The Heart Foundation funds world class cardiovascular research through its Research Program. The Research Team are critical to the success of the program, managing over 200 research funding contracts at any one time. 

In this role you will provide quality support across the Research Team, by supporting the processes relating to the grant and strategic research portfolios. Being able to work with stakeholders and having great IT skills will set you apart in this role. This role requires strong IT skills and confidence to learn new systems, like the Heart Foundation’s Research Grants Management Portal (GMP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.   

Responsibilities: 

  • ​​Provide quality support to a variety of external stakeholders including research grant applicants, funded researchers, research institutions, peer reviewers, consumer reviewers, and Heart Foundation Alumni. 

  • Work collaboratively with the Research Team to implement the annual plan of work, including supporting timelines and deliverables across grant lifecycle including application, assessment, funding, and grant award management. 

  • Develop proficient use of the Grants Management Portal (GMP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to ensure accuracy of records collected via the GMP and CRM.  

  • ​Undertake administrative tasks including data entry, preparation of meeting agendas, meeting papers, reports and material assets as required across the Research Team 

  • Work collaboratively with internal Heart Foundation Teams to support the needs of the Research Team and the organisation more broadly, as required.

About you  

To be successful in this role you will have: ​

  • ​​​Tertiary/vocational qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. Experience in health-related research administration would be advantageous. 

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and customer service skills  

  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively and meet deadlines. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a methodical and practical manner with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and databases and demonstrated ability to learn new software tools and systems.
