The Research Support Lead at the Melbourne Brain Centre will play a pivotal role in facilitating the Australian Stroke Alliance's research program. Responsible for providing administrative support to the ASA's major research activities, they will serve as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and communication. This position demands strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in a dynamic research environment.Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-level administrative support to the Co-Chairs of the ASA and several senior researchers within the Department of Medicine including employees in the RMH Department of Neurology/Melbourne Brain Centre who hold honorary appointments with the University
- Managing all relevant research meeting logistics, including diary management, liaison with delegates and record keeping
- Handling all relevant preparation of agendas, research documents and reports for departmental meetings
- Supporting research governance and other reporting requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to collaborate effectively. They would demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the initiative to work autonomously. Additionally, they should have the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritise effectively, and communicate with stakeholders at all levels using highly developed written and interpersonal skills tailored to various audiences.You will also have:
- Completion of a relevant tertiary level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training
- Scientific literacy and sound knowledge of medical terminology
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarisation with database programs and an ability to quickly learn complex systems will be highly favourable
