Deeds Brewing is a community-focused brewery that supports local causes and implements eco-friendly practices. The Deeds Taproom & Kitchen, which used to be a car workshop dating back to the 1890s, is a unique industrial-chic brewery that houses towering fermenting tanks that can be viewed from anywhere in the venue.
About the Business:
Whilst the news is true, we are currently in voluntary administration. We are far from the first and will not be the last brewery in Australia to go through this process. Those educated in our industry will know many of our contemporaries have come out the other side retaining full control of their businesses. Whilst this is what we’re aiming for, multiple exit strategies could eventuate.
We, as a stand-alone hospitality business are affected by the difficulties that the group faces but have no intention to close, hence the job posting. As the newly appointed venue manager, I see this as an opportunity to grow the business and move in a different direction. With full transparency, we are currently under the direction of Deloitte during this 6-week administration process (ending 24/4) and therefore are unable to offer any full-time contracts until ownership has been declared.
The venue itself stands head and shoulders above its contemporaries; the space has been architecturally crafted giving the feel of a high-end restaurant with a state-of-the-art brewery at its heart. With a capacity of 180, the space is large and multifaceted, with a mezzanine dining area, “The Brewers Bable” private dining, a standing bar area, a tasting table and a dining room.
We have 29 taps serving exclusively Deeds brews mere meters away from the taps. The limited-release schedule of 2 new beers every 2 weeks, puts us in a unique position to tap beers before they are publicly released. Whist Beer is a core pillar, our food offering is far from pub fare. Our offering is at restaurant level, serving guests modern Australian food with global influence. We champion Australian produce in every offering, crafting a wine list that leans natural, sourcing spirits from artisan small-scale producers and even making our own Gin & Whisky. We push to create an experience to exceeds guest expectations.
We are open 5 days a week, currently closed Sunday and Monday.
The Role:
This is a dynamic role for an experienced manager, blending back-of-house with a customer-facing role. As a maitre d’ and Events Coordinator, this role is hands-on and vital to the guest experience, you will look after a variety of events ranging from weddings, corporate meetings, and birthday parties, and perform as the host for the tap room during the evening service.
