To be successful in this role you will need to have strong events/hospitality and operational experience, as well as be confident, innovative, use initiative and proficient in all the onsite deliverables.
As our new Events/Ops Coordinator, working alongside our Events/Sales Manager, your day-to-day will encompass, overseeing up to 3 events at one time, which can include weddings, corporate and private functions, and major special events. You will be in charge of bumping in and setting up event stands, managing events staff and ensuring the operations of events are organised to ensure a smooth process for the team, partners and clients.
To flourish in this role, you’ll need experience in coordinating and operations. You will need to think on your feet, problem-solve, manage a capable team and deliver exceptional service.
What will you do?
- Manage the end-to-end operations before and on event day
- Oversee the event day staffing
- Ability to work across multiple sites, managing multiple events simultaneously
- Have a keen eye for detail and ability to problem-solve
- Liaise with the client and internal teams to ensure adequate staff, products and equipment are set to provide an excellent level of service
- Coordinate external suppliers on-site
- Have exceptional time and organisational skills
- Maintain a professional image and excellent presentation on duty at all times
- Ability to work hospitality hours in line with events (evening and week-end)
What do you need?
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of event coordination skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload
- Working cooperatively with the management team
- Demonstrated 2 years experience or more in event/hospitality supervision
- Outstanding communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously, late nights some nights
- Ability to work across a 7-day roster in line with the business needs
- Great time management and organisation
- Experience working in hospitality/events is a must
- The ability to work afternoons, evenings and weekends
- The ability to drive larger vehicles is a must (Vans, small trucks)
- A friendly, energetic personality with an ability to build rapport easily
- A forklift licence is desirable but not mandatory
