Contribute to the development and maintenance of a healthy and positive environment at CDU’s student accommodation facility (IHD)

About the Position
As a Resident Engagement Officer (REO), you will contribute to the development and maintenance of a healthy and positive environment at International House Darwin (IHD). Working together with a team of Resident Leaders (RL’s), you will foster and promote a safe and harmonious environment at IHD through the design and implementation of welfare, social and other supportive activities aimed at developing students holistically.


About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • Completion of a relevant degree or a combination of extensive related experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of university residential facilities and the needs of students living therein.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and assist with empathy in the welfare of students from diverse geographic, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, whilst maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, solve complex problems, and deal effectively and sensitively with stressful situations.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver student-centred programs within a defined budget.
  • Proven ability to engage young adults and establish pride and ownership within the community.
  • Demonstrated intermediate-to-advanced computer and presentation skills including the use of Microsoft Office and relational databases.

Remuneration 
Appointment to this role will be at Professional level 6. The base salary will be in the range of $84,931 to $90,518 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $99,369 to $105,906 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
