Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

About the Opportunity
Katherine West Health Board(KWHB) is currently looking for a Tackling Indigenous Smoking Community Engagement Officer to join the Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) Program in the Big Rivers regions of the NT.
The position seeks an individual of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage who is able to travel to communities.
Experience in public health, health promotion, adult education, community development, population health, or similar fields is beneficial.
The role focuses on delivering positive health messages through Community Engagement and education. It ensures culturally tailored and suitable health promotion for remote communities.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Work closely with the team to assist in delivering health promotion messages for the Tackling Indigenous Smoking Program.
- Build relationships with local communities in the Big Rivers
- Work closely with key stakeholders and maintain relationships.
