The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Australian Steel Markets team as a ResidentialBusiness Development Manager (VIC) located in Braeside VIC.  As BlueScope continues to grow as a business, we continue to strengthen and develop our people.  We need to ensure we have the right mindsets, capabilities and skills to create and inspire smart solutions in steel to strengthen our communities for the future.

In this exciting customer-facing opportunity, you will grow and build strong partnering relationships with key contacts within the residential building segment to uncover new opportunities whilst promoting additional products to existing customers. While developing sales strategies you will ensure profitable growth of revenue, margin and segment share for our business.  You’ll be a facilitator and connector who drives commercial outcomes for our business as well as our customers and channel partners.

What Will You Do?

Working with our experienced and talented Victorian sales team and our iconic COLORBOND® and TRUECORE® products, you will:

  • create, build, maintain relationships and have multilevel engagements with developers and medium density builders including their internal teams
  • identify business opportunities and industry stakeholders through Business Development activity, research and industry networking events
  • engage with key land developers and medium density builders to stimulate interest in, increase knowledge of and inspire them to use our COLORBOND® and TRUECORE® products and grow segment share
  • create and execute account plans in alignment with our sales channel strategy
  • liaise with our marketing team to assist our channel partners in promoting the use of our products
  • deliver profitability and sales targets (e.g. volume, EBIT and market share) for direct and indirect customers

As a strategic and self-driven Business Development professional who is exceptional at networking and building sustainable relationships, you will bring:

  • an ability to leverage customer and market information to develop attractive value propositions
  • demonstrated success developing business through a direct and indirect channel environment
  • capability to navigate complex sales channels and deal with ambiguity
  • an ability to utilise different tools and methods to identify potential business opportunities and industry connections (including industry sources, Salesforce, and digital or social networking tools)
