About the role
The Head toHealth Peer Support Team Leader will lead a team of Peer Support workers to purposefully use their own story to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery. Through the effective leadership of the Peer Support team, the Head toHealth Peer Support Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring people accessing the Head to Health service are provided with high quality and consistent mental health support throughout their engagement with the service.
The Head toHealth Peer Support Team Leader will work collaboratively to support the implementation and ongoing development of the Enhanced Head to Health service.
About you
You are a motivated, organised person who can work autonomously but likes being part of a team. You enjoy a face paced environment, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and can manage and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
- Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work or working towards completion by end 2024 is essential.
- Personal experience of mental health issues and the ability to draw upon own personal recovery journey to inform your work.
- Minimum of 3-years previous employment experience of working as a direct Peer Support Worker in either the public health or community managed sector, with a deep understanding of the core values and principles of Peer Support work
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and client software programs
- Full driver’s license and Working with Children Check (or able to obtain one)
