About the role:
We are seeking a Residential Care Worker to work on a casual basis covering all shifts (day, afternoon, night) as required Monday to Sunday.
You will provide high quality care and support to residents based working to their care plans.
This role will require you to provide assistance to residents living with the impacts of multiple sclerosis, both physical and cognitive. Your role will include providing:
- Personal care.
- Showering using hoists and mobility aids.
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding.
- Laundry and light housework.
- Medication administration.
About you:
- You have a caring disposition and work collaboratively as a team member.
- You have sound experience working within personal/Residential Care including daily hygiene, dressing, grooming, transfers & mobility and nutrition and meal preparation.
- You have experience in manual handling, infection control and medication administration.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You have experience in completing required documentation, e.g., participant support notes, incident reporting & progress notes.
- You have the ability to work with participants to meet their social, recreation and physical exercise goals as per their individual program plan and NDIS plans.
- You have an understanding of work health & safety requirements in a Residential Care facility.
Must have quals, experience, checks and certificates:
- You will have the minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in Disability Studies/Home Community Care.
- A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate (including valid CPR).
- Relevant experience working with clients with high support needs.
- Working rights in Australia, visa documents required on application.
- You must have completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’.
- You must have a cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check (or apply for one as soon as appointed).
If successful, you will need to:
- Complete a National Police Check (and possibly an International Police Check).
