About the Site and Role:
G4S provides front-of-house security services at Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility, which is an adaptable model of transitional accommodation for men recently released from custody. This allows them a safe place to live and reintegrate into our communities.
We are seeking a bubbly and personable Residential Security Officer to join our team, which includes a Centre Manager, Team Leaders, and other Residential Support Officers. We are seeking a friendly team-player who can follow processes and procedures to uphold safety and security.
In the role, you will have varied days or nights where you will spend 2 hours at different security posts throughout your shift.
These duties include:
- Reception duties - which can include meeting and greeting any staff or residents, checking bags, and checking people in and out.
- Operation of the gatehouse area and managing the sallyport, including checking deliveries and packages before they are admitted into site.
- Distribution of security equipment such as radios and duress alarms to staff.
- Control room monitoring, involving managing several cameras and fire alarms, and troubleshooting when required.
- Doing the community walk - this involves walking the perimeter of the site, walking through each of the residential areas, greeting residents, and assisting residents if they run out of items or they report something isn't working.
About the Roster and Pay Rates:
Our roster is a 24/7 rotating roster, issued at least 3-6 months in advance so you'll know when you'll be working. You will get a mix of shifts during the week and weekend, and a mix of work on days and nights. You will be working an average of 76 hours per fortnight. Shifts are 12 hours, and are either 0630 - 1830 OR 1830 - 0630.
Pay rates vary based on the hours you'll be working.
Weekday Shift: $25.77 per hour
Night Shift: $30.92 per hour
Saturday: $38.65 per hour
Sunday: $51.54 per hour
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, undertaking 12-hour shifts
- Professional with a very high level of presentation and customer service
- Victorian Security Licence
- Basic Computer Skills
The process:
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a 30-minute site interview at the facility. Meeting with the Centre Manager and a Team Leader. If successful after the interview, you will need to complete and complete a pre-employment questionnaire, a national police check, and reference checks. Upon passing, you'll receive an employment contract plus a final set of Onboarding Forms to complete.
