About the Role

We are currently looking for Residues Coordinator to deliver smooth operation of residue material handling to maximise value realisation across three sites located in Mt Gambier. The role will coordinate and deliver residue material locally and to Portland, and associated movement of materials.  This role ensures efficient loading and haulage in accordance with company policies and procedures, customer requirements and timber products chain of custody and statutory mass management requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling loading/unloading and delivery of residue material.
  • Co-ordinate and manage deliveries to residue material customers and ensure weekly and monthly residue materials quotas are met.
  • Liaise with customer representatives to facilitate the collection and/or delivery of residue material.
  • Report and record quality concerns relating to residue materials.
  • Oversee the work of Truck Drivers (company and contracted) and those involved in residue material haulage operations – including record keeping, mass management, fatigue/ rest breaks etc.
  • Accurately record customer order/dispatch information in current information systems and ensure the integrity of the data is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Co-ordinate chipping and/or load-out of reject logs in collaboration with Log Yard / Mill Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant heavy vehicle haulage legislation, codes of practice and industry standards, including statutory and company fatigue management and national and state heavy vehicle requirements.
  • Report poor driving behaviour of Truck Drivers (company and contracted) which may reflect on the company’s reputation.
  • Monitor securing of loads and minimising spillage of residue materials and reporting all spillages off site.
  • Relieve company Truck Driver(s) role and covering contracted Truck Drivers when required.
  • Perform local deliveries when required using company vehicles.
     a resolution.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Coordinator to ensure timely maintenance of trucks, trailers, loading areas etc. or involving substantial road repairs and associated works. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of residue material loading areas, including chip and sawdust pad and Mill bins and reporting spillages requiring additional clean-up resources.
  • Operate mobile plant as per company safe operating procedures.

About you 

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Current HC or MC Class Driver licence along with relevant haulage experience.
  • Current High Risk work licence and competencies for forklift and wheeled loader. 
  • Current (or eligibility to obtain) Access Pass to Port of Portland, including Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) if required. 
  • Strong Communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain productive and cohesive relationships with all stakeholders. 
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple competing projects simultaneously. 
  • Analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and provide resolution, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making. 
  • High levels of flexibility, initiative, and willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks. 
  • Ability to contribute to commercial outcomes.
