For Barbados Port Douglas to continue to be one of Tropical North Queensland’s most sought-after experiences, we’re seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager with a positive, supportive & highly professional vibe. We are offering a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to put their stamp on an exciting restaurant and cocktail bar, in order to continue to develop and grow this small and vibrant business, alongside some of Port Douglas’s leading hospitality operators. This is a full time role and highly customer-focussed.
Barbados Port Douglas is a chilled, comfortable & stylish restaurant / cocktail bar situated at Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina Port Douglas, located in Far North Queensland on the east coast of Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations, coordinating both Front and Back of House activities to ensure an exceptional experience.
- Efficiently manage restaurant bookings and table allocations.
- Provide exemplary food and beverage service, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all customer feedback.
- Foster effective communication between kitchen, bar and front-of-house.
- Work closely with the Function Coordinator, manage events, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction.
- Supplier ordering and maintain control over inventory and budgets.
- Menu development.
- Recruitment and training.
- Rostering and wage costing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing teams and achieving business objectives.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, customer service, and event management.
- Proficiency in using hospitality management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Kounta POS and Deputy is a bonus.
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality, business, or a related field are preferred.
- Customer-focused with a passion for creating exceptional guest dining experiences.
- Positive mindset, hands-on attitude, and an eye for detail.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Hold a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and current First Aid and CPR certificates.
