Located within QT Sydney, Gowings’ next story is inspired by New York’s Little Italy and steakhouse scene. QT Sydney’s dining institution, working with two industry giants, Creative Culinary Director and globally renowned chef, Sean Connolly and respected within the industry Executive Chef, James Kidman.

About the Role
Gowings is seeking a driven and hands-on talented Restaurant Manager who can motivate and groom a team in a high-pressure environment. We are looking for a natural born leader to embrace and activate their team through a strong training culture, and who has the ability to recognize and reward high-level clientele, including entertainment and media clients.
The Restaurant Manager is first and foremost the face of the business, they are the holder of key relationships and the architect of memorable guest experiences.
They are tasked with running and organizing a large team within budget guidelines. They must oversee the day to day service operations of the business, ensuring the highest standard of food and beverage delivery coupled with exceptional service.
The Restaurant Manager works closely with the Head Chef, and the Food and Beverage Director to ensure we meet food and beverage operational objectives.
They will build and motivate a team of like-minded professionals, with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds towards and unified goal of excellence.
High level financial acumen is a must, be experienced in hitting wage costs, COGS and revenue targets to maximize profitability.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in operating a large, high-end, restaurant & bar.
- Able to lead a team with a hands on approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communicator, with the ability to delegate tasks and follow up.
- Extensive experience running a high volume a la carte restaurant and busy bar.
- Encyclopedic knowledge of food and beverage.
- Immaculate presentation and advanced communication skills.
- Passionate customer service advocate.
- Strong background in staff training and mentoring.
