Retail Grocery Manager

Based at Echuca, Cadell Food Service is a family-owned Australian Food Service success story. We have grown our workforce to over 180 staff with offices in Echuca and Epping. Our success is based on the quality of our staff and a commitment to customer service for more than 20 years.
This full-time position requires a positive individual who has excellent customer service skills and can take ownership and responsibility for managing our Retail Grocery department.
We are looking for a hands-on experienced leader, who can lead our team, ensuring that they are trained and informed to enable our consistent growth and continuous excellence in customer service.
As the Retail Grocery Manager, you will have proven experience in this role. Your Retail industry experience, Knowledge and insight will inform and drive your team, relationships with customers and help to identify new opportunities.
- You will manage an efficient and professional team to:
- Ensure that consistent stock levels are maintained.
- Purchase for our grocery department including investment stock purchasing.
- Achieve weekly sales targets and manage wastage.
- Maximise our presentation, stock availability and promotional cycles.
- Merchandise and maintain full stock aisles with correct ticketing.
- Inspire customers through service, presentation, merchandising and stock management.
- Be familiar and ensure compliance with the Food Act 2006 and Safe Food Australia standards.

- Ability to Coach, Mentor and Motivate your Staff.
- Strong Communication and Organisational Skills
- Stock purchasing & Inventory control.
- Rostering and management of Staff
- Add to our product lines.
- Willing to provide a current police check
- Extensive background as a retail manager within the supermarket or retail industry
- Previous experience in working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to achieve budgeted Sales, Gross profit and wage targets.
Requirements:
- You must have 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the same industry.
- Passion and customer focus: we expect you to have a genuine passion and interest in food and understand that our customers are number one.
- Sound commercial judgment: you must have a strong understanding of managing P&L’s and KPI’s and have the ability to drive and improve sales and profitability.
- Leadership: Capacity to work in a team environment while leading from the front.
This is a permanent full-time role and salary will be dependent on candidate qualifications and experience.
