The Opportunity
Botanic Gardens Retirement Living is a close-knit retirement living community set on landscaped native gardens and neighbouring the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations and leadership to create a happy, welcoming and safe environment for residents and staff. Working in an established community, you will lead from the front in creating a culture of customer service. You'll have an enthusiastic and customer-centric approach to service, coupled with financial acumen and management skills. However, your customer service and engagement skills are where you really excel. You are a team builder who can develop mutually beneficial relationships with residents to promote Botanic Gardens Retirement Living. If you have a management background in Hotel, Tourism, Retirement Living or similar - this is a perfect opportunity for you!
This is a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday-Friday.

You will:
- Manage all daily operations of village services including safety, security, maintenance, compliance and events
- Create a vibrant and inclusive culture throughout the community that is built on communication, professionalism and inclusion
- Create and implement village financial budgets and be responsible for all financial performance of the village
- Ensure correct implementation and ongoing compliance with all policies and procedures (including ensuring correct administrative processes are in place and followed)
- Enable residents to maintain their optimum degree of independence and build inter-personal relations with residents and resident committee members
- Manage a small team of staff including hiring, inductions, rostering, ongoing training & development and performance management
- Act in accordance with all relevant external legislation & internal policies and procedures
What you'll bring:
- Prior experience in a front-line customer-facing management role (e.g. Retirement Living, Hospitality, Hotel/Tourism or Facilities Management etc.)
- Highly developed interpersonal skills where you pride yourself on communication, empathy and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated experience in building customer engagement and satisfaction
- Budget development and management skills
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint)
- A self-motivated attitude with a collaborative approach to lead your team to deliver strong customer satisfaction results
- Tertiary qualification in business or related discipline (desirable, not essential)
- Current Police Check certificate and minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
