AddressCRM Recruitment are partnering with a busy Council who are currently going through a transformation and uplift so in turn are seeking a Risk Advisor to join their team located in Echuca in a full time capacity with a potential for on a remote basis Australia wide.
This is a hands-on role within a small governance and risk team that looks after main service activities where touch points to the internal stakeholders and executives is high. Working closely with the broader organisation you will directly impact and add value to the broader organisation to ensure legislative compliance is fit for purpose. As part of the governance team you provide administrative support to help to strengthen the governance and compliance framework so it can be embedded and understood across all areas of the council. As Risk Coordinator your primary responsibilities include:
- Provide advice and support to elected members and other staff on statutory compliance, ethical conduct and good governance
- Undergo high levels of internal stakeholder engagements from operations all the way up to General Manager levels
- Provide support Councillors, Executives and other staff in the delivery of all processes to ensure outcomes are achieved within compliance of the Councils governance frameworks
- Engage in Enterprise Risk Management Framework/System Maintenance, Insurance Portfolio Management (Inc Renewals) and Insurance Claims Processing
- Keep abreast of changes in applicable laws and regulations
The candidate:
- 3+ years of experience within the government sector or transferable industries.
- Strong research and analytical skills and a great understanding of the local government environment
- Strong communication skills, to work with council and stakeholders
- Good eye for detail - Highly developed reading and writing skills
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law or Related field. Equivalent Experience accepted
