About the role:
The Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for implementing and effectively managing the policies and procedures within the College, relating to Child Protection, Workplace Health and Safety, Student Duty of Care, Privacy, Governance, and Risk Management.
The role assists with all aspects of risk, compliance, and safety management, including completing and maintaining risk assessments, Risk and Compliance registers, and reporting through the College’s Risk Management System (CompliSpace).
Key tasks include ensuring the College is compliant with all child safety and protection measures, particularly regarding contractors, external providers on site, and volunteers. The position is also responsible for the coordination of Risk and Compliance audits, and investigations, as required to assist the Director of Business Operations, to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
About the contract:
The position is continuing, full time (76 Hours per fortnight), term time (41 weeks per year).

• Be committed to the goals, ethos and mission of the College as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition.
• Be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers or possess a current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card for paid employees.
• Qualifications in law, business or related disciplines or relevant substantial experience in Risk and Compliance management.
• Demonstrated experience in Risk and Compliance management and development of policies and processes for a large organisation with a broad range of staff.
• Demonstrated experience using Information Technology systems.
• Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining positive relationships with employees and the wider College community, remaining adaptable and providing a prompt and professional service for the College.
• Demonstrated experience implementing WHS Systems and processes, and leading associated change programs.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact with a wide range of people, including staff and the wider College community.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
• The ability to be flexible and work in a busy team environment.
• Ability to maintain privacy and ensure confidential information is kept secure.
• Be professionalism and adhere to the College’s Code of Conduct.
• Experience in a school setting or similar is preferred but not essential.
• Understanding of CompliSpace Policy Connect – Risk Management System is preferred but not essential.
