This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in Independence regulatory and compliance management at Deloitte Australia. We are looking for a manager to work in our Independence team. The Independence team plays a vital role in protecting Deloitte and its reputation through the management of a range of regulatory and professional requirements. We are looking for a manager to work within our Independence team in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth.
What will your typical day look like?
The Independence teams forms part of the Quality and Risk group. The Independence team consists of a wide range of specialists who manage relevant regulatory and policy matters and consult with partners and employees across Deloitte. The successful candidate will join an interactive, fast-paced team, providing critical support and advice to the Deloitte business. As a member of the Independence team you will:
  • Work with client facing teams to provide advice on a range of independence matters to help the business identify, analyse, and appropriately mitigate any risks identified
  • Develop strong technical knowledge as a subject matter expert on the independence regulatory and professional requirements.
  • Manage daily workflow and service delivery to the business to ensure timely consultation of matters raised by the business
  • Analysing potential breaches of regulatory and professional requirements, and preparing breach reporting
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, senior leadership and other Deloitte firms
  • Lead projects to enhance processes, controls, systems, tools and documentation
  • Provide training and education to our people on Independence matters
  • Assist the leaders with the management of the team, including training junior members and developing their skills.

You are someone who has:
  • 3+ years relevant work experience, ideally within public accounting or financial services. Audit, Compliance or Professional Services experience is desirable but not essential.
  • The ability to interpret and understand policy and apply it to real-life scenarios
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills - the successful candidate will be working with partners and employees right across the Firm.
  • Demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot and manage projects and processes, applying expertise to make appropriate decisions that impact the Firm.
  • Demonstrated people management skills.
