Risk & Compliance Manager - Retail Property

Property Network of Australia is recruiting for an experienced Property Risk & Compliance Manager to take on a role based out of a popular Super Regional asset in Sydney. The main objective of the role is to manage operational administration within the centre, mitigate risk for staff, tenants and customers, and to diligently uphold operational safety, performance, and compliance. You’ll be working for a reputable major National Landlord with the role reporting to the centre’s Operations Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, monitor and evaluate contractor performance and benchmark against industry standards
• Conduct risk assessments and produce safe work method statements/job safety analysis
• Maintain and regularly test the Centre’s emergency evacuation procedures and ensure shopping centre and Centre Management staff are trained in such procedures
• Manage and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Manage operations team financial platforms to ensure compliance with contractor purchase order management, invoice processing and any retailer recoverable expenses
• Liaise with insurance providers, claims managers and stakeholders to manage property and public liability claims
• Support the operational team with reviewal of building utility and waste management services
• Monitor crime and incident trends, legislative changes and industry best practice protocols to develop and implement appropriate procedures and risk mitigation strategies
• Maintain the currency of environmental conditions monitoring, ensure hazards are controlled and risk management plans are observed

Experience:

• Security and risk experience at a senior level as part of a shopping centre or property management team
• Exposure to Retail Property Ops Management
• Essential experience in the property/asset management space
• Knowledge of building systems and financial accounting/management
• Contractor procurement and management/Risk management
• Thorough understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to asset risk and compliance
• Well-developed administration, verbal, and written communication skills
